Visiting Atlanta and must return to this restaurant before I head back home. We started with one of the best Lemon Drop cocktails I've ever had. The Blackened shrimp and pepper jack grits were nothing less then wonderful- a culinary internal hug. I'll be back before I leave ATL!

I am a self proclaimed food critic soooo here goes. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Our server Broc was fabulous great smile and very attentive. We sampled a couple appetizers the pecan shrimp and a seafood filled wonton. The wonton was great! The shrimp lacked the same attention to flavor. For our entrees we had surf and turf and added in the blacked shrimp. Again the shrimp just failed to achieve that umm umm good expectation. The absolute highlight of the meal was in the preparation of the steak. It was prepared in an amazing basalmic reduction that brought joy to my taste buds. And then topped off the meal with with the oh so good sweet potato and pecan pie. Both were tasty. Over all portion sizes were good sides were standard. Could have kicked up the "haricot verts" if your going to use the proper term for green beans they need to be a little bit better. Annnnd the crab cake was big but needed some more attention to flavor, also BUT overall good experience and would go back.

My wife and I just arrived from Arizona and walked 2 miles from our hotel to have a meal here based on the reviews. My wife had the prawns and I had the pecan chicken, both were excellent! Service by far exceeded my expectations and our young waiter Sedgwick was awesome. We finished off our dining experience with pecan pie and peach cobbler. Both were excellent.

Great spot, excellent service and ambiance but most importantly the food was excellent. We had both soups as a starter mine was carrot/ginger and my wife has the asparagus. Both were very tasty and well executed with nicely balanced flavors. The entrees were crab cake and lobster tail and lamb chops. Our server claimed that repeat customers come for the lamb chops and I understand why, beautifully seasoned and cooked, tender, a crave worthy dish. I am already looking forward to a repeat visit for that one. The crab cake is huge and packed with crab, full of flavor and nicely crisp on the outside, no grease soaked breadcrumb bombs here just a hearty well crafted crab cake. The fried lobster tail masked the subtle flavor inherent in lobster so the grilled option would have been the way to go as it would have paired better with the fried crab cake and better served the lobster. Our fault we should have taken the grilled option. Dessert was a peach cobbler which we shared as the portions are generous and by dessert time we were both pretty full. The cobbler was nice but next time I will opt for the pecan pie with homemade ice cream, THAT looked fantastic. The ATL is jam packed with restaurants but this one should be on the radar of anyone anywhere near college park, we will make the trip just for those lamb chops!!

I was not prepared for everything The Pecan has to offer. Our table ordered crab cakes, fried lobster tails, and blackened shrimp and grits. It was all well seasoned and delightful... with the exception of the lobster tail that I think I would have preferred broiled. We also ordered a margarita that was very tasty. In addition, the server was very attentive, yet was not overbearing. The Pecan is a gem that I'm glad I have found. We will definitely be back.

Great service. By that, I mean polite, inviting and well-trained. Well-trained means they pay attention to us but don't hover; they know the menu well and the specials -- he was happy to talk about dishes with us and explain them more than once. The visit and chat from the chef (and the complemenary port) really personalized our experience and made us want to bring friends back there. The ambience is wonderful. By that, I mean the intimate space and the way the employees don't seem to stand around dumbly, rather, they know their places to be. They always look like they're in pleasant moods. Nobody is rushing around in an obvious way. That made our meal comfortable and calming. An experience like this is one of the exact reasons people go out to pay for expensive meals - for this kind of restaurant experience. Good managing! Some constructive criticism about the menu... Almost every dish contains the vegetable haricot vertes (sp?). Those green beans are delicious, but putting a bit more thought into expanding into maybe two or three additional unique vegetables that complement other dishes in a good way would be divine. The portabello dish... The menu makes it seem like it is just that - a portobello dish. But when the dish came out on the night we went, it was a whole lot of everything else, with three measely strips of portobello on top. If it's not a lot of portobello, the menu maybe should explain it as a mixed vegetable dish, not portray it as a portobello dish, which is the way it seemed from the way I read it - though I could be mistaken, of course. The portobello it did include was so tasty, we longed for more! A portobello steak done in that way would be excellent! For the price of the dish, I was kind of expecting an entire portobello cap. The lamb... My lamb's sauce was impeccably done! And out of the six pieces, three were melt-in-your-mouth delicious (I asked the waiter to prepare them to the chef's recommendation and he answered medium-rare without blinking an eye - I trusted him, and I love a waiter or waitress who does not hesitate to make a recommendation from the chef, and whose chef has made sure they are trained in his recommendations). Two were chewy and tough, and the last was inedible. The first three made the dish worth it, but it left me wondering if they should just leave off one or three of the others, or replace them with the three good pieces from another cut of lamb. My mother told me that's just the way this cut of lamb is - the closer you get to the outside, the tougher it gets; therefore, half of my lamb lollipops were invariably sure to be tough. But why put them on the plate? Or figure out a way to cook them so they're not. I don't know what the best solution is here, but from the customer's perspective, I think I'd rather have a smaller portion that is all quality. I'd certainly recommend the crab cakes appetizers! Full of just crab, not much filler! Perfectly soft and textured on the inside, crunchy on the outside, without seeming over-fried. They were doused in a perfect tangy sauce, which was complemented well by the surprise visit from the chef to our table and he brought a glass of an excellent port to my fiancé as gift (we were there celebrating our engagement)! He was just being spontaneous and we had a lovely chat with him, where we found out The Pecan wins a lot of awards for those Tybee Island crab cakes. Thank you for your time in reading this. We had a wonderful experience over-all. The sauces are the real shining stars from this menu. The staff make this restaurant awesome, too, as does the chef! I look forward to returning, and with a larger party.

Pecan-Ponderous Plating and Pretense I was taking a new employee to a welcome dinner and sought a nice restaurant near my airport hotel. Pecan is very close to ATL in the re-gentrifying area of College Park. The building is in a area plucked out of the 50's. Formed out of what was once and alleyway and a hardware store it is a very interesting structure. The wall beside us was once the outside wall of the building next door. It is covered in ancient hand painted Coke sign and other advertising that was discovered during remodel. Nice. The waiter was about the most pretentious I've ever experienced. After carding my associate (and discovering that he was 25), he referred to him all night as "young man". If I had been a client that he was taking to a meal this would have been devastating instead of just annoying. It continued with a haughty "as you wish sir" at every pause in the conversation. The special this day that he was promoting was a "blackened" tilapia served with asparagus and potatoes. We both ended up ordering it. I also ordered a salad after a lecture about how the greens might astringent(?). The meal came out and was plated by stacking the ingredients. Three asparagus spears were on the bottom, mashed potatoes were plopped on them followed by a slab of fish atop the pile. The "blackening" meant it was overcooked and dry despite being made "Southern" by pouring some barbecue sauce on it. Not good. My associate ordered a peach cobbler. Our waiter felt it necessary to stand with his hand over the crock while he lectured us on the hot porcelain , crust and contents. It looked like a thin watery mess once my guest opened the crust. The total tab for two glasses of wine, two fish dinners, one cobbler, a single salad, one coffee and one after-dinner drink was $125. Not a good value. .

Pretty good, slightly overpriced upscale southern food. Saturday night, a group of 11 got there at 6:30 and the place was empty. By the time we left at 8:30 it was picking up. Food was good and plentiful. The buttermilk pecan chicken looked great and was popular. I had blackened shrimp and pepper jack grits. Good flavor, just spicy enough. Good wine list, not bad price. The food for our group came out in waves - all the fish, then all the chicken etc. A smallish restaurant so we didn't mind.

Cute place !! Fair service Food - not good !! Grits just plain ordinary at best. We had the shrimp and grits. Sorry, but just bad the shrimp had way to much sauce. You could not taste anything but the sauce. No bacon on the dish as shown. We did not like the dish at all. We had the salmon and grits this dish was really bad. Canned salmon with tons of sauce as well yuk. Only one or two bites eaten from the dish the server did not even inquire?

I had dinner here last night with two friends - we were staying at a hotel near Atlanta's airport and it was an easy 5 minute cab ride to the restaurant, which is on a cool-looking street - nice neighborhood. Walking into Pecan, there's an inviting atmosphere. The evening sun lit up the old murals on the brick wall. We first ordered an appetizer plate of shrimp/crab/small lamb chops and other bites...wow!! The shrimp was lightly crusted and had a sort of marmalade tasting glaze. The small crab cakes were so so good. My main course was also outstanding -- blackened Tilapia (something I wouldn't normally get. I'm not a fan of blackened fish. But our waiter, who was very helpful, recommended it highly.) The fish rested on a really tasty sweet potato mash and some delicious grilled asparagus. My friends both ordered grilled salmon which they liked, but it wasn't 5 thumbs up for them like my dish. We shared a peach cobbler dessert--really good. The wine list was decent - not memorable. That's about it. I'm going back next time I'm at the airport for an overnight. I really liked this place.

Food here is surprisingly delicious. Came here for brunch for Fathers' Day. Restaurant hosted a fathers-only raffle, which was cute. Live music added to the ambiance. Owner came over and introduced himself - another nice touch. A little far from my stomping ground, but I'll definitely return for brunch.

Our hotel concierge recommended The Pecan and boy are we glad he did. The Pecan is a charming, quaint restaurant with amazing food. We are three very hefty eaters so we ordered an appetizer sampler. It came with lamb chops, blackened shrimp, bruschetta, and crab cakes. Our all time favorite was the lamb chops. They were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The shrimp, crab cakes and bruschetta were also very good, but the lamb chops stood out. Luckily I ordered lamb chops for my entree. We also ordered the vegetable chowder soup, the pork chop, and the fried catfish. All of which were amazing. My friend was closing his eyes, savoring the taste. We ended the meal with the peach cobbler and the pecan pie. I highly recommend ordering both with a scoop of ice-cream. The service was also great. They were accommodating and explained all of our menu options in detail. I was definitely impressed with The Pecan. When I am back in Atlanta, I will definitely return.

Very disappointed. When I asked the server what brands the house reds were, instead of admitting that she didn't know and offering to find out, she became argumentative. Finally the maitre d' offered her the wine menu to defuse the situation. The ladies restroom lock was very crude - I accidentally walked in on another person. When the door is open, the facility is unavoidably viewable by patrons seated at tables. My boyfriend and I were entertaining his brother from out of town - else we would have got up and left. After I ordered my entree, the server asked, "Would you like soup or salad?", implying that a soup or salad accompanied the entree, she did not say, "Would you like to add a soup or salad?" All three of us were charged extra because evidently, the soup or salad was not included with the entree. My soup was 1/4 hot, 1/2 warm, and 1/4 cool - characteristic of microwaving. I do not expect to pay $12 extra for microwaved soup. My water and iced tea glasses went completely dry before the entree was delivered - neither was refilled. For these prices, I would expect for the entrees to be delivered to the correct seats - they were not. I am from Louisiana - I know shrimp and grits. My shrimp were undercooked and the grits were soupy and bland. The tails were left on so that I had to fish the the shells out. I would expect this had the entree been $12 - but not for $28. We ordered a bottle of red wine. Not once did the server even attempt to refill any of our wine glasses. She up-sold soup and salad but I guess she wasn't interested in making sure we had enough wine. The server had to return with the checks 3 times. The first time she neglected to ask if/ how checks should be split. The second time she split the check down the middle with one couple and 1 male. The third time she forgot which credit card belonged to which person. On top of all that, the final insult came when we were reviewing the check. My boyfriend had ordered one of the Specials - a 16oz steak. We were charged $55 for a mediocre quality piece of beef that was even accompanied by a salad. We will not be back. None of our friends will ever visit your restaurant. I have worked in three high end country clubs - one being an Arnold Palmer course. I know fine dining - both service and food. The Pecan is neither. We choose your restaurant to entertain a relative from our of town and instead were embarrassed and robbed.

The Pecan is a fine dining option in College Park on Main Street just across from the CP Marta stop. I believe it's in the space previously occupied by Oscar's. The restaurant is beautiful and comfortable. They offer a pretty good selection of southern fare (shrimp n grits). The lunch portions are large and plentiful. The side items were garlic mashed potatoes and aspargus. Nothing special about either: both were good. The mashed potatoes were a little cool when my plate arrived. I wish they had been warmer. Both times I have experienced slow and unattentive service with a dining room that was practically empty. I can't imagine if they were busy!

This was my first time dining here last night, and let me just get right to it. The ambiance was nice, great setting...but the bar tending staff snickering and laughing in the background were very unprofessional....brought it down several notches...not classy at all. Additionally, the wait staff were okay, I was serviced by a trainee who kept asking me "what was I trying to imply?" Imply? Really? My question was, "were there anymore dessert choices other than the ones listed on the menu.." No hidden meanings here. Now to the food. Appetizers: I am used to crab cakes that have lump crab meat. These crab cakes were not good, reminded me of something frozen with "bits" of crablike meat inside..not to mention it was about 2-3 inches thick. Entrees: Salmon Croquette- straight out of the can, with the bone included; not cooked through, just a crust on the side. The chef apparently LOVES panko bread crumbs because everything is coated with it...which is a good segue into the next entree..Pork Loin- According to the server "chef likes to cook the pork chop medium" I followed his advice....should have follwed my first mind, 3 inch pork chops, pink inside, couldn't cut it. Dessert: I too had the 13.50 peach cobbler and it was peaches in something reminiscent of baby food.. with a crust on top. Not good! Please believe I don't mind paying for good food, but this is not it. Sorry Pecan.

The south is in my blood. Born in Philly, but my roots come from Georgia. I loveeee southern food. This a small privately owned restaurant and they have great food. The atmosphere is elegant but you can still dress casual if you like. I love to eat here when I go visit my parents who live in College Park (Camp Creek area). The appetizer is my favorite because you can share it with up to 5 people. Its small lamb chops, brushetta, and shrimp. You can order fish and grits, macaroni and cheese take your pick. The Pecan is my personal favorite place to eat with my family.

Well, I made my second trip to The Pecan during my stint here in Atlanta. For a Saturday night, I was surprised there were plenty of parking spaces open in front. There were 3 tables with people, the rest of the place was empty, so I was quickly seated despite no reservation. The server, Kara, was very friendly, and happily accepted the Restaurant.com gift certificate I had. I started the dinner with an Arnold Palmer. For those of you unfamiliar with it, it's lemonade and iced tea combined...Interestingly I've never seen it in an orange color. Let's just say that's not normal. The complimentary jalapeno cornbread and apricot infused soda breads with honey butter were delicious and full of more butter, but that's Southern food right? I ordered the curry carrot ginger soup that's supposed to be topped with lump crab meat. The soup itself was delicious but a little more lump crab meat would've been nice. It was like the chef took a fork straight down into a tub of lower quality crab meat and whatever strands were left on the tines were dropped in the middle. I then made the big mistake, taking the waitress's recommendation with the Tybee crabcakes. As a former Baltimore resident with a great respect for the crabcake, I should've known better. But I said why not, and went for it. For 30 bucks, I was given two 5-inch deep fried patties that looked like they came out of a supermarket freezer. The patties were smothered with a mustard and something orange aioli. Inside the patties were shredded crab meat, LOTS of red and green bell pepper and onion. Frankly, all I tasted was oil and onion. The first one took effort to eat, but the second, I ended up scooping out whatever crab strands I could obtain. I'm really disappointed because for 30 dollars, the least they could do is use jump lump crab meat, and not just something that clearly came out of the freezer. And as previously mentioned, the sauce they use seems to be a generic one, overused and in excess on many of the seafood dishes. Even with the gift certificate taking 25 bucks off, 30 bucks is waaaaaay too much money for 1 person's dinner without an alcoholic beverage when the quality is so poor. Sorry Pecan, but I have to say nay.

i went there twice last winter and both time was pleasant loved the pork and steak there a bit overpriced but a very good place compare to what options it has in that area. never had problem with the service (both time small party of 4) and i went on weekdays but def will go back if i am near the airport with friends. oh yea and the crab cake is good too!

Run the other way. I had made reservations and specifically requested a quiet table since my colleague from Miami wanted to use the time together to catch up. Instead we were seated by the restrooms and adjacent to a very loud party of 15 men on way too much testosterone. We asked to be moved and even though there was an open table by the window, that never happened. Service bordered at first on harassment then hostile neglect. Later in the evening, the staff came back to where we had been relegated and noisily chatted and ate their dinner opposite us on the other side of a grossly overwrought banquet. The piece de resistance was having a view of the waitstaff cleaning the bathrooms and then serving cocktails. Did they wash their hands? Food was only OK and g_d-awful expensive. The next time I want to go eat in a loud toilet with mean people I will return to The Pecan. What a waste of space, time, and money. I was embarassed to have suggested this lame excuse for a restaurant to my friend.

I have been to restaurants in 15 different countries, domestically and locally. With that being said The Pecan has the absolute best Crab Cakes hands down! I do not like Pecan pie however this is the only Pecan pie I not only eat but will buy as a whole pie and not just the slice. They also have a signature drink, named appropriately after the owner called The Tony Morrow and it's excellent! The Sunday brunch is amazing with endless Mimosas for only $10.00. If you have not tried this place, it's a must try. Cheers!

Had a business lunch here today and was impressed. Pleasant and open ambience. I recommend the appetizer platter since it had the best tasting lamb I have ever tasted or didn't taste since lamb always seems well... like sheep. Anyway, I had the massive crab cakes which were good. Only issue I had with them was that they didn't seem to have the same grade crab as was in the smaller versions that came with the appetizer platter. Minority owned business is a plus in my book.

When I walked in, the music was playing people were talking and the smell was fantastic. My husband and I were quickly greeted and seated. The menu is simple and straight to the point. Very nice place in downtown College Park, GA. It is definitely a diamond in the rough. It is pricey but it is local. I felt it was worth the price due to a very kind waitress who was knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. Its hard to get good service in Atlanta lately so I can appreciate when I encounter someone who knows what it means to be a great server. Food was delicious. I ate it all which I really shouldn't have but it was so good. Would definitely go again and recommend it if you're looking for a romantic night out.

I really wanted to leave The Pecan saying, "This is one of the best meals ever!" All our family could say was, "That was way overpriced, and Golden Corral would have been better." The wait staff was excellent. The before-dinner muffins were wonderful. The side items were good. The main entrees were not good. Three of us had fish, and the fish tasted bad and/or mushy. Unfortunately, this is not a place I will return or recommend. Oh, family of four with 3 entrees, just sides for my picky son, 2 soft drinks, 1 beer, and mandatory 20% gratuity on a gift certificate: $145.

I honestly just love their food; their greens, the catfish, the chicken, etc but my most favorite thing to eat there is their grits. The costumer services is so great as well. You have to make sure you have a reservation so that you are able to be seated when you go there because they can sometimes be very crowded.

Came for Sunday brunch. Service was good but the food did take a long time to come out since we were here when they firsts opened and it wasn't crowded. Seems like making a reservation on Sunday is the way to go as I over heard the hostess by my cozy seat in the window. The food was great chicken breast cooked perfectly and the 2nd BEST French toast I've ever had! Faster hotter food would've gotten 6 stars!!!

Our second time here and we can't figure out why we haven't been back sooner - that won't happen again. Service - we had a great experience which is consistent with our last visit. Ambiance - I consider it to be semi-upscale in feel and appearance. Food - our appetizer was pure mouth watering, Seafood Beggar. My wife really enjoyed her crab cakes. I asked the server if the lamb chops were good. She replied, "They are the best"! Well, I concur they are the best. Price - yes, a little on the high side but would only be a problem if any part of the experience was disappointing, which was not the case. Overall - can't think of another restaurant on this side of town that offers this type experience with great food. We will be back!!

I would really prefer to give this establishment no stars, but that's not possible. I arrive at this restaurant after my party of 20 people was seated. I took an uber to the restaurant. I get seated and one of my colleagues asks me if I can help with the waiter's attitude. I said I'd try. Well the comes by, his name is CJ, and his attitude stinks. Stinks to high heaven. You can speak while he's speaking, can't substitute sides, can't laugh. Everyone around the table are on their p's and q's, no one wants to say anything bc they are afraid he will spit in their food. My coworker and I start laughing bc this couldn't be happening. He comes behind me and starts clicking his pen waiting for me to stop laughing. I couldn't believe it. He had this booming voice. I swear I was back in Catholic school. He asks my coworker what she is ordering, she said "nothing" he said GOOD! I mean the worst service ever. We called an uber and my coworker and I left.

My parents came to visit me from DC a couple months ago and decided on this place based on an ad they saw in some hotel magazine. I guess those ads do work? I had originally planned to take them to some casual southern place, but they had their heart set on this place (no idea why). Made a reservation on Open Table and they were ready for us when we got there. They got wine and I got the lemonade. One thing that I will never get used to is how sweet everything is in the south. I followed my lemonade up with a water. We ended up with a sampler of their crab cake, lamb, shrimp, bruschetta, and mixed greens. The crab cake was delicious, the lamb was nicely seasoned, the shrimp were large and cooked well, and the bruschetta had a nice blend of tomatoes and cheese. Very satisfied with it and it was a great way to start the meal. I was very pleased with my crab cakes. The garlic mashed potatoes and haricot verts were the perfect addition to the two crab cakes. My mom's shrimp were cooked perfectly, and at the recommendation of the waiter she got them with grits and loved that, too. My dad ended up with one of their specials and was the first to finish his plate, so I'm assuming no complaints there. We finished the meal with a slice of The Pecan pie (how can you not?) and the peach cobbler. The pecan pie was not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. And the peach cobbler is a must. So delicious. Service was prompt, our server was knowledgeable and helped us make informed decisions about our dinner choices. I'd definitely return.

What an incredibly lovely southern spot! And service was perfect. Our waiter's timing was impeccable and recommendations right on. Professional and engaging/gregarious. Enjoyed two specials for our anniversary dinner: seafood trio with salmon, shrimp and huge scallops with jasmine rice and diced summer veggies; huge fried lobster tail with generous crab cake nearly as good as MD's with haricots verts and garlic mashed potatoes. Homemade praline ice cream was a perfect finish. Loved the ambiance of this place in the sweet little "old town" part of College Park Atlanta. Can't wait to come back!

Word of advice: This place IS NOT CHEAP! It is, however, the best white tablecloth fine dining restaurant on the Southside and would rival anywhere in the metro area. If you arrive at ATL during afternoon rush hour, you owe it to yourself to stop by and enjoy a top flight dinner while the traffic dies down. The menu is fairly limited by entrée options but is compensated by the quality. As the name implies, nearly every dish has pecans worked into it in one way or another but the pecan taste is definitely not overpowering (unless you order the pecan pie). Even though there was a large dinner party in the side dining room and the restaurant was full, we still received attentive service while our dishes were prepared. Perfection takes a little longer than other restaurants but at least we were not neglected or ignored. Because of my budget I can't make this a frequent stop (did I say it was pricey) but will certainly come back when I have a rush hour arrival and left a little margin on my per diem. Anyone living on the Southside who might be tired of having to go to downtown, Buckhead, or places north for a fine dining experience definitely should check out The Pecan on Main Street.

Wow. This was a great experience, but the details just weren't there. I so wanted to give them a 5 stars, but it just had too many misses for that. We arrived with an hour to go on their hours. So that was maybe 9:00pm on a Thursday night. We arrived and an office dinner party was winding down. It was LOUD and totally took up the bar seating area. Not too bad as it wasn't the restaurant's fault. Other than that, we were the only three. Hot off the airplane and hungry. When they left, it took away most of the noise. I started with an awesome cocktail. I had a 7 & 7 which typically is standard fare. This person knew how to make a drink. Wish I ordered something a bit more complex to test the bartender. Had the crab cakes for the entree. It was great. The sides were perfect. The cakes themselves seemed a bit too institutional, but they were very good. The mashed potatoes and veggies made it great. How often do you hear that? I saved room (yeah, right) for dessert. I actually stuffed in the pecan pie. Wow, it was great. I love pecan pies and actually have low standards. This was actually good compared to most. The thing that tanked it was the kitchen staff. As soon as the crowd left, some woman was screaming her head off. I don't know what the stories were. If it was funny. If she was just that way, but it literally was a constant scream. Like she was talking across a football field and just out of her mind entertaining herself. It was very distracting for a restaurant of that caliber. I would definitely go again and hope that it was early enough in the evening that the back room folks had something meaningful to do.

Was driving by and decided to pop in. Very nice place, good vibe, live jazz. I have no doubt everything on the menu was good but you MUST try the fried catfish and pepper-jack grits. DAMN GOOD! The collard greens were surprisingly good (many restaurants just don't do them right). Will certainly make my way back here again.

in a strip, where maybe a nice restaurant shouldn't be, this was a nice surprise. open and airy, with brick walls and tables spaced so you weren't right on top on someone else... we walked into a half empty restaurant for dinner and the host replied that he thought he could accomodate us. i always laughed out loud, but maybe it was a joke. i jammed on some lamb chops, with some mashed and haricot vert. very well done, nice portions for the price and it was accompanied by a cab. honestly, i cleaned my plate. i thought was dang tasty. i think i'm a fan.

Wish I had better things to say. I was there with a group (16) and we received very sporadic service. Entrees coming out ahead of apps and either under seasoned or over seasoned. I had such high hopes and even when discussing the matter with the owner, we were let down. On our over salty and non edible lamp chops he took off 1/2 of the price. We all left unhappy and still hungry...

I had the pleasure of eating at The Pecan today for brunch, and had an amazing experience. This quaint restaurant is on Main St. in College Park, but it has all the characteristics of a big city eatery! The wait staff was extremely professional and friendly, while being very helpful about the menu. The decor is beautiful, and very well kept. There are only about 15-20 tables in the entire restaurant, but the food completely makes up for the square footage. The first thing I really loved is that they have BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS for only $10! Most restaurants either force you to purchase a carafe or charge you $15-20 for Bottomless Mimosas. They also have southern favorites like homemade lemonade, iced tea, and of course, the Arnold Palmer. Now for the food! Originally, I wanted the Spinach Quiche, but they were out, and it only came with Swiss cheese....I hate Swiss cheese. Our waiter then highly recommended the fried catfish & pepper jack cheese grits....I was skeptical, but took his suggestion.....THE FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING! As a G.R.I.T.S (Girl Raised In The South), I'm VERY particular about my GRITS (see what I did there? LOL).....these Pepper jack cheese grits were AMAZING! The catfish was fried very well, and I had the sweet potato purée as a side. Overall, I had a GREAT experience, and will happily return!

Walked in at 8pm on a Monday night. Just flew in and wanted a place with Southern cuisine close to my hotel. The Pecan delivered and then some! Amazing service from the time I walked in the door. Jon is a personable, professional server and great bartender. Make sure you ask him about his beautiful family. Fantastic special appetizer-the seafood bagel. Essentially a wonton stuffed with prawns, crab meat and spinach. The orange red pepper glaze had just the right amount of kick. For entree had some of the best crab cakes. They call them Tybee Island crabcakes and they are better than any crabcake I have tasted on Tybee. Being so close to the airport it should be on everyone's must eat list for Atlanta area.

Not considering price, it was decent food. However, when you consider that I had a $30 piece of somewhat dry Tilapia, not impressed. My favorite item was actually my side of collard greens. On the upside, the wine pouring was generous. I would not return at the current pricing.

Serious "hidden" gem in downtown college park. Great Georgia fare with a few select low country favorites. My preferred place to dine in Atlanta. Right on the MARTA line

Kahla behind the bar rocks it. 1st time here. Grits are awesome. Crab cake best I've ever had. Ok they don't serve prime steaks but the way they marinade makes up for it. Surf and turf is big enough to split. Fried Lobster tail amazing. Did I say amazing. Not some carnival food but lightly dusted and fried lightly. Biscuits with honey butter. What can I say we will make this our new spot for ATL. Without a doubt. 2 thumbs up. Guy Fierie needs to visit this place. No dive just white table cloth Outstanding!!!!!!

My friend and I can't agree if it's pronounced "Pe-CAN" or "Peh-Kahn" but whatever you want to call it, this place is the truth! We drove down from South Carolina on Sunday for a Ladies Day Out, beginning with some Sunday Brunch. We were the first ones in there and were there til closing time. Where do I start? Our server, Jhon (correct spelling), was a real treat. Such a sweetheart. He took great care of us and gave us everything we needed, often before we had a chance to ask for it. I was a little disappointed that their unlimited mimosas didn't start until noon, so he appeased me with a peach iced tea in the meantime. This wasn't no Lipton, honey. No, suh. This was honest to God, slap somebody and say Amen peach tea. While you're trying to decide what to order, help yourself to some Pecan cornbread muffins... Yep, you read that right. Little cute and crumbly bites of heaven, with some cinnamon butter on the side. In case nobody told you, you need those in your life. Not want... Need. Be nice to your sever and s/he might bring you extra. ;-) I decided on the shrimp and pepper jack cheese grits (NOT an easy choice at all!), while my friends dined on catfish and grits and oven roasted chicken salad, respectively. Now I've always believed that having to choose between shrimp and catfish is like having to pick which child you love more... it just aint right! So I asked for an order of catfish on the side. Jhon warned me ahead of time about the price, but that fillet was so pretty, so succulent and soooo worth it. The shrimp... oh those succulent beautiful shrimp. Plump and tender and seasoned to absolute perfection, then drizzled with a healthy helping of remoulade sauce. The grits were creamy and cheesy and complimented the shrimp's spice blend exquisitely. I could have eaten a bathtub full of those grits and happily asked for seconds! They are THAT good. The catfish was dusted with panko breadcrumbs and lightly fried. We were expecting old fashioned cornmeal breading, but instead we received a light, crispy and satisfying alternative to the fried fish we grew up eating. It was not greasy at all, and the panko added a nice crunch to the thick and meaty fillet. I could have used just a little more seasoning on my catfish, but I was too busy cleaning my plate to complain! The atmosphere in here is cozy and relaxed, yet upscale and tasteful... no riff-raff running around in there. I came to brunch in my finery (think pillbox hat and veil), but you don't have to take it that far. Many other patrons appeared to be part of the after-church crowd, so I'd recommend trying to blend in. You don't have to break out a suit, but leave the jeans, t-shirts and sneakers at home. There was also live music, which just enhances the whole brunch experience for me. There was an adorable older gentleman making beautiful music on a saxophone, just slightly out of view. And then to our surprise, one of the servers takes the mic and starts singing his heart out! An unexpected treat, indeed. I wish I saved room for dessert, because I thought I heard a peach cobbler call me by name from back in the kitchen somewhere... You can't go to Georgia and NOT have peach cobbler, right? It's downright rude. So....After your tummy is full, make sure your wallet is too, because dining here is a bit expensive. Don't get me wrong, it's WELL worth it, but when a side order of catfish runs you almost $20 by itself... well, you get the idea. (I'm not complaining... it WAS a good piece of fish!) If I am ever anywhere NEAR Atlanta again, I will definitely be making another trip to The Pecan ("Pe-CAN?" "Peh-kahn"... oh whatever. Ya'll know what I mean!)

Shannon, the proprietor, was very extremely hospitable. We were visiting from LA for work around Atlanta, and therefore had limited time for leisure time. Shannon was so graceful & nice in waiting on us, when all of her waiters/waitresses were so overworked. This place was a gem, especially when everything else on Yelp was so far away from where we were staying around the ATL. The food was so out of the world: 1. Crab Cake - not greasy, not stuffed with filler, just plain good crab meat with excellent seasoning and browned to perfection!! Taste & texture was excellent!! 2. Carrot soup with ginger & crab meat--again perfection in taste, texture and even temperature!! 3. Pork Loin - moist, not greasy one bit, and the taste was so good. 4. Sweet potato pie - not overly sweet at all, just enough spice to give it a slight kick--best I ever had--been searching all these years and I found the best!! 5. Pecan pie - Not overly sweet and with all the fillers and raisins like others, this is just good old plain pecan toasted to perfection!! I would give this place a 10-Star if Yelp has it!!!

This place is a diamond in the rough. White linen, up scale restaurant. I had the most amazing shrimp and grits ever. The grits were so creamy. The shrimps were a spicy Cajun sauce. It was delish! I also had Italian collard green that was seasoned well too. The service was excellent. Beware this place is pricey but well worth it. Nice twist to a Sunday brunch the had live music. Am thinking it was a little Jazz. I will definitely will visit this place again.

Everything here is homemade, fresh, and to die for. I found this place by accident and went for dinner with a colleague. We had a salad with roasted pear; a perfect balance of sweet, salty, peppery, crunchy. Light, small portion. A perfect choice. I followed that with the oven roasted pecan chicken. Oh. My. Stars. So juicy, so tender. The perfect portion to keep you from feeling guilty. Severed with sweet mashed potatoes and the best haricot vert I have ever had. Tender, yet crunchy. Garlicky but not too buttery. The warm pecan pie is the perfect finish. This pie is not filled with corn syrup... But filled with pecans! Their homemade vanilla ice cream is just divine. This is THE place to go. Ask for Brock. He's a sweet and dedicated waiter.

The Pecan is great idea for an area lacking in fine dining for business travelers staying close to the airport. The atmosphere is cool and has a nice but hip Southern charm. Appetizer platter was diverse and was delicious. The crab balls were a little heavy on the mayo filler but still good. Everyone's entree looked great but my Pecan Baked/Flashfried Chicken was disappointing. Half a breast and dry around the edges. Not worthy of the $26 price. Staff was very friendly but service lacked even for a Wednesday night. By the time cocktails arrived to the table we were well into the appetizers. The second drink took even longer. Had the service been better we probably would have opted for a dessert or after dinner drink but we opted for another location for that. I might try Pecan again out of convenience. I hope they adjust their prices and ramp up the service before I do.

We had a very rocky start to our 1st dinner here- after having made a reservation and noting it was my birthday, my husband and I were seated at a table right by the bar and door to the kitchen- which kept squeaking loudly as servers came in and out every few minutes. Our server Jonathon greeted us immediately and tried to take a drink order- however, we had not even been given a drink menu yet. After bringing us one we didn't see Jonathon again for a good 5 minutes. During this time I became so annoyed with the poor start to our dinner, especially the not so great table and loud door- that I very reluctantly asked if we could sit in the other room which was quieter, more dimly lit and overall more romantic. I am a server so I hate to be that person that asks to move tables but damnit it was my birthday and I had been looking forward to this dinner and just wanted to enjoy it! The lady very kindly moved us to the other room which was MUCH nicer. I was half hoping we'd get another server but Jonathon finally came over and commented about us not liking the other table. He joked around with us a lot which was a bit off-putting me to me at 1st but I guess that is just his style of service. We ordered everything at once- our soup came out yet we had to ask for spoons, and in the mean time, still had not received our drinks. We asked another server who was very nice and he got them for us. The carrot ginger soup was good- not great- but very good- we ate it all. The little rolls they serve are wonderful! We shared the pecan crusted chicken and shrimp and grits as entrees- and both were incredible- I'm telling you these are the best shrimp and grits I've ever had! They tasted great together too- the pecan crusted chicken was crunchy and came with mashed sweet potatoes and was a nice flavor and textural contrast to the spicy savory shrimp and grits. Fabulous! Jonathon was more attentive as the meal progressed- but we did find it odd that before we finished our meals we were being told the kitchen closed soon if wanted dessert- it was only 9:30 and posted hours said 10:30. We did order the Pecan pie and Jonathon was nice enough to send out an ice cream on the house too- a praline ice cream that we dumped right on top of the pie- YUM! Despite all the flaws in service, overall the food was wonderful and we really enjoyed our meal. This is one of the best restaurants on this side of town and I would highly recommend!

Been a while since I was last here. Even though we came at the end of night, the food was great. The service was top notch but I was made to feel like I should have made a reservation. Next time I will have a better review of the food. Parking was however an issue. We ended up parking in a back lot and didn't feel safe. But the area didn't seem super shady so no issues.

Though they are very pricey the food is very good. We ordered the crab-cake and fried lobster tail and it was Excellent.. We got a kick out of our waiter who reminded us of an Old butler out of an old 1950s film. Yes sir, thank you sir, will that be all sir, Tally ho... Hahaha I'm still laughing.. But the food really is very good.

Great place to stop before catching a flight out of Atlanta. Divine greens. Impressive service- really exceptional (thank you, Bryheem) Grits to die for and a sweet sweet peach tea. Would absolutely come back when in town. Also, nice live music on this Sunday afternoon. Oh - and don't deny yourself the peach biscuits! Complementary and so good.

I had the blackened shrimp and grits and it was amazing. It was Sunday and they had a musician singing jazz music. It was my first time in Atlanta but I really loved The Pecan. I would definitely go back and recommend that the locals partake in this every Sunday for brunch.

I visited The Pecan during College Park Restaurant Week. I was there for brunch and had an Omelette with ham & veggies and a side of grits. The food was awesome!!! The ambience of the restaurant makes you want to just sit and relax. The soothing sound of live music made for a memorable experience. I definitely recommend you try them...you won't be disappointed.

*This review is based solely on one dinner entree. It was so delicious that I had to comment. Since I haven't tried any of the other dishes, I'm giving the restaurant four stars. This entree alone, however, is truly five-star!* The shrimp and pepper jack grits ... GOOD LORD!!!! Look to spend $30 on this dish, and appreciate every bite! The grits are creamy and divine. The shrimp are nicely sized, blackened and covered with a Cajun creme sauce. Mmmm mmmmm good! Your palate will thank me later! :)

First time here after seeing the restaurant on Atlanta Eats. After visiting and having dinner with friends I must say we were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the service was done with style and elegance. Overall a great atmosphere and a lovely place for a romantic dinner.

This place is a little gem near the airport. Upscale down home cookin'. Staff was young but courteous, even welcoming us in 30 minutes prior to opening as we peeked in on this very cold day. Extra kudos to our sweet waitor, Brock. Definitely get the blackened shrimp over pepper jack grits, the pecan crusted chicken was also very good! Well worth our last stop and a fond farewell to Atlanta!

Omg! I loved this place. I took a male friend here for their birthday and they were so impressed! The atmosphere was amazing and the food was outstanding!! This is definitely a "nice night out on the town" type spot so don't expect O'Charley's prices. But it was worth every penny. Oh and the staff were so attentive. And I love the fact that they'd actually tried the food on the menu so they could tell me about the selections. Can't wait to go here again!

This place is really nice I didn't expect this at all! The service was Excellent, very professional, friendly and attentive from the beginning to end.....They have live music which played all my old school Jams very enjoyable!!! The Food was good, everything was seasoned just right! The grits were AMAZING! I eat Grits all the time and they do NOT taste that good! Lamb Chops and the Blackened Shrimp were very tasty I recommend those two entrees. The spinach quiche was Good, Very tasty and it wasn't dry!! I ordered the Appetizer sampler it was $65 ! So I can agree with the other reviews about it being Pricey!!!! but as they say you get what you pay for and it was really good! I have nothing bad to say about this place very nice I was shocked! The only thing I didn't like was the timing of our food I felt like i waited forever for my entree BUT I was in a large party that was very indecisive so I can't blame The Pecan but Still! I'd definitely come back! Nice place to take a date, the ambiance was very relaxing and romantic! FYI if you decide to bring children they do not have booster seats only high chairs! This is not really a place for a gang of kids more mature crowd leave the kiddies at home.

Visited the Pecan on a Friday afternoon for lunch. What a pleasant surprise! I ride pass the restaurant all the time and always wondered about the food. The menu has a variety of things to choose from. I had a hard time choosing between the tilapia and the shrimp and grits. The shrimp and grits won and I was not disappointed. Someone at the table next to us ordered the tilapia...that is on my next visit. Great ambiance, Great service, and Great food.

I ordered the Surf and Surf which consisted of a Tybee Island Crabcake and a tempura fried lobster tail. The crabcake was delicious! The lobster tail was just ok. My husband ordered the pecan crusted chicken which he stated was just ok. The ambiance would have been nice had there not been a large party of 10 or so patrons who had been drinking and were extremely loud, one even shouting clear across the room to the other. The peach cobbler was pretty good. In all, the amount of money we paid was not worth the "just ok" food, loud dining area and extremely small portions received. We won't be back.

I was pleasantly surprised. This is southern comfort food at its finest. Being vegan, I ordered their curry carrot ginger soup (minus the crab meat) and it was very tasty. I then ordered for the main course, I ordered the Portabella Napolean. Simply amazing. I can't explain how good it is. Just get it and you'll know why. The authentic southern peach tea was super sweet, but worth it being in GA. Ambience was very upscale and nice. Surrounding eateries and business do not match this place. A diamond in the rough, literally.

I knew I was going to be in Atlanta at some point this summer, so I decided to begin looking at ATL Groupons and such. One for The Pecan popped up. I asked some friends from ATL and none of them had been. I checked the Yelp reviews. Solid. So I bought the deal - 2 glasses of wine, 1 appetizer, 2 entrees and a dessert for $45. I calculated everything and it came out to be a really good deal. Parking for The Pecan is right in front of the place. When you walk in, you are warmly greeted by a hostess and seated in their beautiful dining room. I'm a sucker for beautiful decor and this place definitely had it. Our waiter was super nice and very helpful. The menu options are vast and all perfect, so we had to have some help in deciding. We opted for the crabcake appetizer. No filler there. Just mounds of perfectly seasoned crab. Boyfriend loved the crabcakes so much that he ordered them as his entree as well. I opted for the shrimp and grits. We had just come from the aquarium and had a hankering for seafood. We're jerks. We know. Paired with my food, I had a nice sauvignon blanc. Boyfriend had chardonnay. My shrimp and grits were super good. Very plentiful and the flavor was on point. Of course, boyfriend loved his crabcakes. We got peach cobbler for dessert. What a wonderful way to end a meal! I'm just sad that this is all the way in Atlanta and I'm all the way in Arlington, VA. I MUST get back to The Pecan though! The decor, service and food were all just amazing. You'd be a fool not to go here.

The only complaint I have is we had to wait about 30 min for our entrees after our appetizers, we were told there was some kind of miss communication and offered a free desert as compensation. Other than that, the food was excellent I had the crab cake and the Shrimp & grits. Delicious!

Both times that I've been here it's been with very large groups (more than 20 people) and for a small restaurant they did a fantastic job of keeping up, getting everything straight and providing excellent service. The food has been excellent. From the steaks to the pasta to the appetizer plates to dessert, I have not had anything bad here. Great escape from the airport area to get a good meal!

Nice upscale place located in an up and coming section of town. This place is a very nice and needed addition to the area as I can remember how things use to look before Main St. took a turn for the better. The food and service are very good but a bit pricey compared to the portions but I guess that is to be expected. The place is large enough that I've never had an issue being seated. I've tried a bit of everything on the menu and I haven't had what I would consider a bad meal yet, but to me the star of the show has always been the pecan sweet potato pie.

Stumbled on this place almost by accident while looking for a brunch spot on Yelp. It's an inconspicuous storefront in a transitional neighborhood. Can't say enough about how great our experience was here. Absolutely delicious food, from the fluffy perfect biscuits straight out of the oven, to the pepper jack grits, to the sweet potato pie that jumps off the plate into your mouth and the pecan pie with pecan ice cream. Comfort food at its best, but sophisticated as well. Live music, owner takes a personal interest in the customers, a warm friendly dining room. Our delightful waiter Jonathan said "I defy you to find anything on our menu that you don't like the taste of" -- and I agree.

We discovered The Pecan by way of a Travel Zoo voucher. We love using deal certificates to try new places. What a wonderful gem! The martini/special cocktail list is great (you MUST try the signature Pecan cocktail!) and the food was delicious! My hubs had the shrimp & grits which were wonderful, and I had the boneless stuffed game hen special which was fabulous. Our only disappointment was our peach cobbler dessert--apparently the oven was on the fritz so it took FOREVER to come and wasn't very good. I suggest a Pecan martini for dessert instead! :) Most of all, our service was fantastic--our server was so pleasant! Overall, a place we would definitely return to again and especially for a special occasion.

The LMQ and I were looking for a nice Saturday night out and we found it at the Pecan. Reservations were no problem at 7:00, and they were moderately busy - not crowded but active enough to generate a little energy. We were seated immediately and our waiter Phillip was with us within seconds. We had a pre-dinner pop (her a Mondavi Pinot and me a G&T) with the basket of small muffins, and we settled in for a wait for the mains as we had skipped the starters (something about saving room for desert, you have to think strategically). Well in no more than five minutes we were served our main course, probably 15 minutes after we walked in the door! It's not likely it always moves this fast, and we certainly did not feel rushed, but it was good to keep moving. Now for the food. Lynny had Blackened Shrimp and Grits. Shrimp are easy to overcook, and chances are most you've ever been served were. However, she reports these shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the blackening seasons were flavorful without being over powering. The grits were creamy, and the Creole Aioli was a great finishing touch. I had Tybee Island Crabcakes. When they were served I was a little concerned - they were huge but had that just too perfect look, like maybe they came off a Sysco truck. False alarm - they were great. Plenty of crab and just the right amount of filling with an excellent flavor. And the Creole Aioli helped make the dish as with the Shrimp and Grits. The Haricot Verts were just a bit crunchy but I prefer that over mushy. We topped it off by splitting a Peach Cobbler. Given my low pain threshold it was good I didn't dig right in - it was blistering hot - but this gave the LMQ a chance to get a head start. She saved me a few bites and it was a treat. Not too sweet, and they could have just served me a plate of the crust. The condensed version: Ambiance warm and upscale without being pretentious; Atmosphere - crisply casual, mildly energetic but not too loud; Food - very good to great; Value - upper end for CP but not overpriced. The Pecan is likely to be one of it not the nicest restaurant south of downtown. We will definitely be back! PS - To the very elegant and crisply dressed woman sitting next to us, you really shouldn't eat and talk on the phone at the same time at home, much less in a place as nice as the Pecan.

This place is a must for any trip you make to Atlanta. Great service and remarkably delicious food. Salmon croquet and jalapeño grits were devine. Pecan corn bread muffins and peach biscuits are delicious. You can not go wrong with any dessert I had pecan pie with homemade praline ice cream. I will stop by here every trip to Atlanta

Came here for brunch and the service was great. The server was very attentive and took good care of us. He recommended the chicken and waffles and the chicken strips which accompanied the waffle were well seasoned. The actual waffle could have been a little more crispy or toasted but overall the food was pretty good. The only reservation that I have about returning is that the food is a little pricey but overall I was impressed with the service.

We had a post-wedding luncheon here for my husband's family right after the holidays. I'd found Pecan from searching online and chose it based on reviews and location. We wanted a place that was nice but casual and could accommodate about 30 people. It didn't disappoint. We had a pre-fixe menu and everything looked wonderful. I had the fish, which was lovely, and guests also loved the steak option. The food was delicious and good portions. We especially loved the homemade pecan pie, I still think about it! Other than the food, the decor and space is nice. I'm a fan of the Coca Cola design on the wall. The staff was really friendly and great. I didn't get her name, but there was one in particular who was especially cheerful and funny. We would definitely come back the next time we're in Atlanta!

Marvy. Just a super professional outfit. Affectionate and knowing take on down-home cooking. Satisfying, but they get there the hard way, balancing flavors and textures (versus just larding it down with, well, lard). VERY good service, professional plus the whole southern-hosiptality thing. On the less-fashionable side of town, but I'd rather be there and I will go back.

Fantastic. Got the slab salad, very good using fresh local produce. The pork loin which was probably the best pork chop I have ever had. Perfectly cooked with great flavor. Finished with the Pecan Pie which was a huge step up from the typical corn syrup/pecan pie. This was light and delicious. Great meal.

I went here this past Thursday for a business lunch. The restaurant was very quiet and offered an enviroment for business conversations. The waitress (forgot her name) was very patient, thorough, and attentive. I had the salmon croquettes, grits, and vegetable medley. It was great and the portion size was decent where I had enough for dinner that night. All of my three lunch guests had the fried catfish with greens and various other sides. They all loved their meals as well. Two had peach tea that they raved over. The decor was very much nicer than you would expect for College Park and I pass by this restaurant every day on my way to the train station. Finding out that it was minority owned was definately a plus. Proud to see this establishment growing and thriving. I would visit again.

Came here for a company function and the first impression for everyone was pretty decent. On Main Street, I would say this is one of the better restaurants, for say, having a lunch meeting or "nice" dinner. (I only say "nice", because I saw them turn away a couple at the door who did not have reservations. The restaurant was almost empty...so I am guessing they were waiting for the large party ....that I never saw arrive.) The food was like a southern twist and modern fare. We had the shrimp and grits, crab cakes, and grilled salmon...was decent. One thing I loved about it was the wall. The whole left side of it is still in its original form, which was a Coca Cola advertisement that they left bare. It gave the restaurant an air of being taken back in time.

Main Street College Park is one of those little town roads that is a throw back to your grandma's day. It runs along the rail road tracks practically a stones throw from Hartsfield Airport. A client asked me to meet him there for dinner and I can tell you I wasn't expecting much. I was impressed with their website so thought... maybe..... and what a delight it was. The Pecan Restuarant is an elegant little restuarant with a retro feel that is so authentic, down to the decades old Coca Cola mural painted on one brick wall. The food is a combination of top shelf seafood and meats with side dishes that are down home southern. I had the pecan crusted shrimp as an appetizer and they were better than coconut shrimp ever thought about being. Entre's at our table were fried catfish on peppered grits and side of collard greens, salmon croquette on grits, and salmon in an impressive tower of greens, shaved sweet potatoes strings and grilled shrimp. The salmon was rolled to be round. Deserts were homemade apple turnover in its own pastry cup, pecan pie, homemade vanilla icecream and homemade watermelon sorbet. The only complaint, and it was a small one, was the salmon was a little too "browned". Try the peach tea (I mixed it half and half with unsweetened tea to tone down the sweetness). Service was terrific. The whole experience was a delight.

My grandma would say this place is "highway robbery" lol! Umm, so I think I paid $13.50 for peach cobbler...I went here for Sunday brunch with the girls, and I love the unlimited mimosas. I was a bit shocked at the menu prices though. I've dined at lots of Midtown/Buckhead establishments, and I find that the Pecan's prices are a little high. We all had mimosas, chicken and waffles (the hottie rec'd that...thanks), and peach cobbler. I think those were the best chicken tenders I've ever had--perfectly seasoned! I paid about $50 total. The customer service is excellent, and I found the staff to be very accommodating. I was hoping for some menu options that included pecans, so I'll request pecans in my waffle batter next time.

Pleasantly surprised at finding this little gem. The absolute best grits I have ever tasted. The food and service was excellent. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and we were seated right away. I would love to find out the history of the building- there was a cool old Coca Cola mural on one of the interior brick walls. We were seated at the "storefront" and the view was neat, watching folks walk by with the old train depot across the street in view. Our server knew the menu well and she knew the specials. I ordered the open faced chicken sandwich- sautéed onions and peppers smothered with melted provolone, served with a side of fresh waffle fries. My bride ordered a salmon patty served on a bed of creamy pepper jack grits. Oh my goodness- the grits were creamy and so tasty! The only complaint would be the overly sweet peach tea and lemonade. If you are in the area- and I suppose if you are even just passing through the worlds busiest airport, stop by and enjoy a delicious meal.

Southern meets modern with authentic, fresh flavors. while the previous posts were correct about the price, you get what you pay for folks. The crabcakes were plentiful. Two 5" lump crab. Flavorful, breading on the outside where it belongs. My host had the lamb chops and they looked amazing. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere outstanding. Price points to fit several budgets. We were lucky enough to meet the chef/owner who joined us for a glass of wine. Great place to enjoy rather than the unending sea of sameness at national chain restaurants. The peach cobbler was out of this world, served in a souffle cup to ensure a great mixture of pastry and fruit. Topped with quality vanilla ice cream. My host had the Pecan Pie and he said prior to ordering it was the best he's ever had.

Been here once for dinner. A bit pricey maybe, but the food was good, the environment quiet, the service attentive.

I came here, because a friend raved about their chicken and waffles. A group of us ventured out for Sunday brunch and were surprised by how cute the restaurant was. The inside of the restaurant had an upscale feel (think: white linens, fresh cut roses on the table, etc.). We made reservations for 1pm and was surprised by how empty the restaurant was. I assume we must've just missed the brunch rush hour, so I was totally fine with that. This is pretty much where my positive experience ended. Our waiter was the worst waiter I have ever had. He never told us about the Sunday specials--I strained to hear the waiter next to us explain everything to his table. He never refilled any of our drinks without asking; I had to ask for coffee 3-4 times throughout brunch. He never asked us if we wanted dessert; instead he threw the check on the table and left. And he never checked on us after our meal was served. When a restaurants average dish is priced at $17-18, then I think a little attention is warranted. The only shining light was the chicken and waffles, which were divine. The tenders were seasoned well and not greasy and the belgian waffles were fluffly. Unfortunately, the terrible service really ruined my first experience and I don't think I'll come back. There are way better brunch places in Midtown and Buckhead that offer exceptional service and great food.

I have dined here on three different occassions... several months in between each of the three visits. I found the food to be good each time but with each visit, the service went from okay to bad to WTH. Last time I was there, I encountered some of the rudest service I have ever had AND the person I was dining with did not receive what she ordered. When I brought both the rude server and inaccurate order to the attention of the manager (a male), he was just as rude. I love supporting our businesses, but I absolutely will not ever eat here again. I have also told all my networks, friends and family about how lousy we were treated on that day.

I am so disappointed. This restaurant has such great reviews and my experience was horrible. I don't think they are capable of accommodating large parties and I wish we would have been told this when we called to make our reservation. I had to actually ask for everything menus, bread, a server to start taking orders. It made no since. We had a large number of small children with out party and many of them did not receive their meals until after all of the adults received theirs. Food was still coming out as some of the checks were coming out. My catfish taste as though it had been batter is table salt. I sent it back and was told by our server, Jonathan, that he didn't know when I would be able to get a different meal. So I just didn't eat. Water glasses sat empty throughout the entire meal. I eventually asked Jonathan to get the manager for me. He told me the manager was extremely busy, you should never be too busy to deal with your customers. Needless to say, the manager never came out to speak with me. I am outdone.
